Today, we spent the day on the lake. It was a beautiful day and the water was cool, but not too cold. The sun was bright and sunny and the temperature was around 82 degrees…so remind me why I wouldn’t want to live up here. We rented a pontoon boat, which was much larger than the bow rider we had before. Everyone could stretch out and walk around. We stopped at a sandbar and it was crowded. I volunteered to jump in the water on the back of the boat and pull the anchor to place in the sand. Our “Captain” decided that it was too crowded and wanted to pull up and out. So he waves me back to the boat. I go down to retrieve the anchor and began to swim back to the boat. I found that swimming with an anchor is not the greatest thing and found myself being pulled under water with the anchor in hand. With a choice of the anchor or my life…well the anchor was dropped and got stuck on the bottom of the lake. I made it back to the boat and fortunately another boater was close by and helped pull the anchor and then set the anchor on the front of the boat. We spent about an hour on the sandbar and it was quite relaxing. We pulled up and went to a bay that was really nice and quiet. We anchored for a while and wow…it was so quiet and relaxing. I floated for a while and I couldn’t ask for a better day.

After spending the day on the boat and on the lake, it was time to return to town docks for some chow. I got the classic burger which is a smash burger with 2 patties. For some reason it tasted so good. We loaded up our gear and headed back to the lakehouse. It was a great day and reinforced my wanting to live up here. Another day in the books and getting depressed thinking it might be time to go home soon.

Oh yeah, I spent a day looking at several properties and found a colonial house that was very cute and in my price range. So I made an offer and we will see if they accept it….till next time.
